Taking Part: Fertility Study
By Marissa Long

Letter from Study Author

Hello!

My name is Marissa Long, a Clinical Doctoral Psychology student supervised by long time researcher, Dr. Debra Bekerian. Having worked with infertility patients, I have identified areas of need in terms of services and support. I am committed to educating health care providers about the needs of infertility patients and developing more comprehensive services for patients in various settings.

I am embarking on a research project with the goal of identifying similarities and differences between infertility patient subgroups. I want to learn how different circumstances impact the experience of infertility.

I believe the results of this research will educate healthcare providers about the complexities of the infertile patients’ experience and allow them to provide more focused support and services. Additionally, this research is the vital first step towards developing much needed services for infertility patient subgroups since not every patient is the same.

To do this I need your help! If you are currently receiving infertility treatment (medication, procedures, observation, etc.) I hope that you will take the time to help me help you by clicking on the link (https://www.psychdata.com/s.asp?SID=124711) and anonymously participating in this study. You’ll be taken to a one-time questionnaire which takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. There is no cost or obligation on your part. Your participation is completely anonymous and highly appreciated. I will be happy to share the results of this study with you when the research is complete!

Please seriously consider this request and the opportunity to participate in this study which will positively impact the infertile community.

I would like to thank the American Fertility Association for its support in providing the opportunity to recruit AFA members for this study. Furthermore, I would like to thank you in advance for your time and participation in completing this questionnaire and adding to the information available on the experience of infertility.

Sincerely,
Marissa Long
